The Neag School of Education is proud to announce that a Connecticut student, Aleema Kelly from CREC Montessori Magnet School in Hartford, Conn., is the national winner of the Library of Congress’ “Letters About Literature” contest for Level I, grades 4-6. The Neag School was the 2016 Connecticut sponsor for the Letters About Literature (LAL) writing contest for students in grades 4-12.

UConn’s Neag School of Education has been awarded a $20,700, four-month planning grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving to support a collaborative, research-based process to augment their UConn Administrator Preparation Program (UCAPP) for aspiring school principals and intermediated managers.

The Neag School of Education hosted 15 German Fulbright educators as part of a short course focused on the theme of “Diversity in U.S. Education” held on the Storrs campus earlier this spring.

More than 50 faculty researchers and graduate students from the Neag School of Education will be presenting at this year’s American Educational Research Association (AERA)’s Annual Meeting, taking place Friday, April 8, through Tuesday, April 12, in Washington, D.C.

U.S. News & World Report released its annual national rankings of graduate schools of education on March 16, 2016, with the Neag School now ranking No. 16 among public graduate schools of education in the nation.
Four of the Neag School’s specialty programs also placed among the top 20 in the nation.

Dr. Gladis Kersaint has been named the new dean of the University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education.
Kersaint, currently associate dean of academic affairs and research for the College of Education at the University of South Florida (USF), where she is also a professor of mathematics education, will begin in July.
